Fire-rated ventilation grilles allow room temperature air to freely circulate across building elements (solid walls, partitions, doors, etc.) whilst providing effective protection against flames, smoke and gases. Whenever our ventilation grilles are exposed to fire, the lamellas will immediately respond to the heat by expanding many times over so as to seal off the opening and prevent fire as well as smoke from propagating to the surroundings.

How fire-rated ventilation grilles work

VENTILODICE^® V & VC fire-rated ventilation grilles are crucial for fire protection in ventilation systems. They ensure natural air flow across partition walls and fire doors whilst also preventing the spread of flames, smoke and harmful gases in the event of a fire. At regular ambient temperatures, they allow the free passage of air between adjacent rooms. In the event of a fire (at temperatures of 100 °C and above), the lamellas of the grilles will expand, thus preventing any further passage of air and air supply. Once properly closed, the grilles provide powerful protection against fire, smoke, fumes and explosive gases.
