Battery fires pose immense stresses on battery cases and surrounding environments. To mitigate these risks, various protective materials are employed. These materials must withstand extreme temperatures, pressure changes and particle bombardment. Our patented testing method offers a quick, easy, and cost-effective way to evaluate these materials. We simulate the stresses a battery case (housing) experiences during a fire, providing invaluable support for our customers’ subsquent material selection process. Our particle impact testing method provides a comprehensive, well-structured approach because the duration of the actual stress exerted on the battery, the maximum temperature, the particle size (granulometry) required for particle bombardment as well as the distance and angle between the test specimen and the particle outlet opening can be adjusted as required. This approach allows us to vary all relevant parameters accurately, flexibly, and quickly – tailored to your specific needs.
